If you are visiting this site from AOL, most graphics from the web are compressed on your system and do not look as the designer intended. You can usually avoid this by following this procedure: Go to "My AOL", then to preferences, click on the "WWW" button, then from the box that comes up, choose the "Web Graphics" tab. Click on to UNCHECK the box for "use compressed graphics". You must then clear your browser's cache! or your browser will show you the website's pages from memory, not a fresh copy of the page.

Interestingly, part of our brief in the Work zone was to use modern AV equipment to recreate the old world of work! Digital sound stores were used in the recreation of an old style 1950s style factory, complete with 'Work FM' radio.

Living Island- DJW's task was to create ambient seaside sounds, bringing to 'life' mechanical seagulls and a foghorn, sounding at the zone entrance. Many cleverly hidden speakers are used in the ‘Tunnel of Love’ entrance, to provide the ‘vox-pops’ on what it is people love about the seaside.
DJW's skill with sound also plays a vital part in the creating an authentic 'school corridor' experience in the Learning zone, where electronic sound stores provide those never-to-be-forgotten school sounds such as lockers slamming and kids shouting.
In Shared Ground zone DJW had to provide a system capable of replaying and recording 32 channels of sound independently. This was achieved using just ONE PC!
Additionally, safety always has to be a priority, so DJW had the vital task of integrating a voice alarm system that in an emergency will co-ordinate all speakers to order, to assist with effective and efficient evacuation.
