If you are visiting this site from AOL, most graphics from the web are compressed on your system and do not look as the designer intended. You can usually avoid this by following this procedure: Go to "My AOL", then to preferences, click on the "WWW" button, then from the box that comes up, choose the "Web Graphics" tab. Click on to UNCHECK the box for "use compressed graphics". You must then clear your browser's cache! or your browser will show you the website's pages from memory, not a fresh copy of the page.

The Big Idea

DJW were awarded the contract for AV consultancy for the time-travelling Wildscreen, and the highly interactive Explore at the end of 1998, running through to August 1999. The two technologically advanced exhibitions within the @ Bristol Science Centre presented some interesting and diverse challenges to resolve.
Lighting and synchronizing a 450 million year “Tree of Life”, depicting the evolutionary path of life on Earth, and recreating the sounds of tropical jungles were just two such challenges achieved.
“@ Bristol has been a remarkable project,” said David Willrich, DJW’s Managing Director. “Since DJW became involved very early in the planning stage, we were able to identify a variety of multi-media opportunities that would further enhance the visitor experience throughout the project.”

He continues “ Whilst this early involvement is obviously an advantage, our enthusiasm to produce the very best in visitor experiences tends to lead us into presenting ourselves with a technical challenge or two.”
