If you are visiting this site from AOL, most graphics from the web are compressed on your system and do not look as the designer intended. You can usually avoid this by following this procedure: Go to "My AOL", then to preferences, click on the "WWW" button, then from the box that comes up, choose the "Web Graphics" tab. Click on to UNCHECK the box for "use compressed graphics". You must then clear your browser's cache! or your browser will show you the website's pages from memory, not a fresh copy of the page.

The Museum's innovative Geological Gallery includes the Big Bang, Ice Age, dinosaurs, land mass movements, mineral formations and human habitation. DJW utilised the latest technological advancements to produce the sights, sounds and sensations of the Universe's creation and the earth's evolution.
DJW designed and installed all the audio-visual equipment for this project. We used 13 Sony VPH1000 video projectors, 36 laser disc players, 96 speakers, 31 monitors, 18 channels of Electrosonics ESTA tapeless audio, Electrosonics PicBloc video wall system and 96 channels of controlled lighting.
The exhibition takes approximately 40 minutes to tour. All exhibits are fully integrated so that they flow from one to the next as the visitor moves on. In all, there are 27 different film/video points. Each individual programme runs for less than 3 minutes.
The Gallery's custom-made multimedia system includes a video wall, video projectors, controlled lighting, laser disc, interactive computers and audio systems. "Evolution of Wales" was opened by HM the Queen on 15th October 1993.
